Crab cakes you'll get for dinner
Crab and Cracker Crumbs mixed with
mayonnaise, lemon juice, and one egg
Pan-fried in butter on a skillet until browned
And a dish of cheddar broccoli soup
I'll boil the broccoli in broth and milk
and melt in cups of cheddar cheese
And serve it in bowls with bacon wrap sandwiches
Away the winter night broods and scowls
As the earth moves out from under the sun
I'll kiss you with the heart of one who needs you
And pray for you when you are away
Longtime you have journeyed to this lonely outpost
Where I wait by the flickering fire
The fire utters secrets as it cracks and burns
The wind grows colder still
The sounds of the city are all around
And in the distance, a whipporwhill
The waters cleave to the bosom of the earth
Where God makes all his plans
He gave me this place to rest my bones
And think about all things coming or going
Though He is doomed to Die before long
Some happiness we'll enjoy for now
He is afar now, chasing, as you also are,
The steadfast wills of his longing heart
He loves me, That one, and so do you
And whatever may come or go
Just that, that fact, is enduring still
May it never be untrue
In Jesus' Name,
Amen
