"Deception"
There's worse things to come
And worse things up ahead
There's no shame in being ugly
Sometimes the most beautiful thing
You can do Is to sit alone and feel afraid
Physical appearances lie sometimes terribly
Wars occur without armies to fight them
Sometimes the casualties are our own bodies
To put the body up for sale to protect the one we love
Sometimes appearances are telling lies
And attractive people do cruel and scornful things
Appearances lie.  They lie all the time
The war on mortality is desperately fought
The war for the soul is raging too
Sometimes physical pleasures just blow me away
Like sour cream or bacon sandwiches
Or being held so tight when  one wants to cry
Or seeing the most beautiful sunset falling down
Or looking at the reflection and seeing hope
We are so much more than our bodies
We are so much more than the parameters of the mind
The energies of the cosmos are flowing through us
That within us is much greater than what one looks like
So don't be deceived.  You cannot take it with you
These things die with time and they fall away forever
If you look with the eyes you will miss so much
For many years I tried to look with my heart
And I see things all the time, every day
I tried to think in a prayerful way at all times
And I found myself able to communicate with everything
Life is lonely and quite sad.  Dreams don't come true
But to believe in these dreams, is crucially important
You build your dreams and when they are taken away
You let them go because it doesn't really matter anyway
What matters is what you do with the time you have
