There's hope in endurance
There's hope and beauty in holding on
Life follows these hopeless paths
Over and under like weaving
Sometimes the loss of grief's too much
Sometimes it is overwhelming
Treelike one stands alone
There's hope and beauty in that
The prophets were slain over the years
And kindhearted people were trampled down
Like green green grass they lost their lives
And now hopelessly they wander
If I ever feel hopeless that way
I'll bend down and scoop up the earth
Years and years it's lying there
Can't one thing take away from it
Can't anybody make it better or worse
It just is what it is
Gonna find you a home to live in
And sleep there like toys on a shelf
I hope you live forever
In Jesus' Name,
Amen
